Did I ever tell you how much I love the myths? No?
Well... I ADORE this kind of stories, even from childhood, I was attracted to Family of Influence- agents of the Olympians,the Greek gods, on Earth and controls Earth, each family controls number of countries and they execute the agenda of the gods under the guise of presidents, monarchs and dictators, they chose the rulers, wether good or bad. They put them in power and when their time is up, they remove them from power.
The story centers around Siobhan and her way of falling in love with the Greek God Apollo. He is not only the God of the Sun and the Music, but he is also someone very seductive with a lot of interest on our beautiful woman. Siobhan is a virgin at 22, but that not only makes our male-amazing characters to become almost crazy for her, but he wants her desperately. Yet, Siobhan is not ready to let go. Fate bought them together for a reason and you can almost touch the tension between these two.
Even though she does not want to admit to their connection, she is clearly affected by him, but she does not give him the opportunity to get that idea into his head. Yet, his music could destroy every single iced heart out there, his music could bring you to the realms of heaven in no time. His music could make you scream in pleasure, his music could mend your heart. His is perfection when it comes to any aspect and Siobhan is the one that can get his attention, because he seems interested only in her.
But as any in her right mind woman, Siobhan finally decides it is time to act on her instincts. She offers him her virginity, but mostly because their connection is no longer undeniable. They continue to become their own and no one else's for weeks, but then the inevitable happens.
He leaves because of some complication, she hurt him even though she didn't intent to. But when she finds out that she is pregnant everything changes. Radically.
Will Apollo come back? Will everything change?
But in the same time, Apollo has an secret agenda, a plan that includes Siobhan and in the same time the future of humanity, a future that not many Gods agree to and obviously they will try to kill Siobhan and her unborn children without a second throught. So you will have not only romance, but action and drama in the same packet, a beautiful packet that presents a new vision on the stories that we all grew with...
Characters:
Liam aka Apollo- I wanted to start with him because he's one of the most complicated book's man that I have the pleasure to met. I told you about how I was a little in love (obsessed) with the myths when I was a little girl, well, because of the age, I didn't fully understand their personality, even thought I found it very amusing, at the time, their crazy and egoistical actions. How they will chose I new wife, more like lover, without a second thought to the first one.
Well... I found this irritant behaviour on this character too. Apollo was seductive, beautiful, protective, but when it comes to his personality I found him very egoistical and observed on himself. Yes, yes, he has a mission that he must finish before it's too late, more so when his position is in danger, but really he says to Siobhan that he can marry her because he sees in his future more children that are his but not hers, without a second thought on her feelings, and then he whisks her away and convince her to make love with him. Really, I'm going to admit that I was a little disgusted with him and mad on her because she gives him everything without a second thought to her own happiness...
Siobhan- she's the story teller, the voice of this novel but also the daughter of one of the twelve Influential families that exist and controls the wold. Literally, they are the ones who chooses what president or dictator will be in power. Twelve families for all the continents with the exception of Antarctica, and she was chosen to be the woman who will have Apollo's heart. In the start, she was tough, I'll give her that, but with every move, she's loosing the battle and becomes Apollo's lover. Now I have contrite feelings about this situation, while I liked their scenes, I didn't like the manner in how she's loosing that backbone from the start and simply accepts whatever Apollo says to her...
Final Verdict- Really it's one of the most difficult reviews that I make because I liked, really liked the relationship between Apollo and Siobhan, but I hate Apollo's view about their love, but in the same time I'm more than happy with the story's end. Now, just in this case I would let you to judge this story...
