Jerry S. Eicher and his beautiful books! + interview



Jerry Eicher’s bestselling Amish fiction (more than 210,000 in combined sales) includes The Adams County Trilogy, the Hannah’s Heart books, and the Little Valley Series. After a traditional Amish childhood, Jerry taught for two terms in Amish and Mennonite schools in Ohio and Illinois. Since then he’s been involved in church renewal, preaching, and teaching Bible studies. Jerry lives with his wife, Tina Eicher, and their four children in Virginia.





1) How and why have you started to write? Were there something or someone that gave you an impulse?

Yes, one of the national distribution companies here in the US wanted Amish roamance books.


2) I noticed that your books are based on faith, love and tradition. Why have you chosen this three moral codes?

One writes from one's belief, I suppose. But that is also what the current Christian market wants her in the US.


3) While youre writing, have you discovered a character that you where developing feelings of

love for? And was there a character that gave you headaches?


I used to write compleltely by plot line, but I've begun to follow characters more. And then, yes, they surprise and frustrate you.


4) How have you done your research for your novels?


I usually visit the Amish community in which the book is based.



5) Is there a book/(s) that inspired your writings?


Not really. I've always loved fiction reading.


6) In the end, would you like say some words to your fans from Romania?
