“You sure you’re not sneaking off to Los Angeles to get me a ring?”

He laughed once more. She’d been trying to get it out of him since the night he told her he’d wanted to take her to Vegas for the weekend. Even with her business meeting, she was hunting for clues of a proposal. Only his brother knew he planned to ask her to marry him this weekend. “I’m not going to Los Angeles to get a ring, but even if I were I would never tell you,” he said.

“You do realize that gives absolutely nothing away?”

He nodded, tapping her forehead lightly, then running his finger down to her nose. “I know,” he said, then nibbled on the end of her nose.

“Well, enough about rings. What’s in that box there you’re hiding by your leg?”

“You saw it?”

“My gift-spotting skills know no bounds.”

He handed her the turquoise-wrapped box with a white bow on it. She eyed the bow. “In case you want to tie me up on the plane, looks like we already have something to use.”

His dick twitched against the denim of his jeans. She was always on the same wavelength as he was. “I may need to tie up your hands as a reminder to bring your poker face to the meeting today.”

She gave him a sharp-eyed stare. “Do not ever doubt my poker face. It is masterful,” she said, as she tugged one end of the ribbon, letting the white satiny bow fall across the shiny wrapping paper. Ripping off the paper, she popped open the top of the box, and there it was. That glow in her eyes. The absolute joy in receiving gifts. She was a delight to give presents to because she never faked her appreciation. Reaching inside the box, she wrapped her fingers around the necklace then gently lifted the long strand of pearls. “Oh my God, they’re stunning. They’re so fucking gorgeous.”

She draped the pearls over her hand, the long strands like waterfalls of smooth, rounded beads. She gazed at them like they were precious, a fitting response, since they were. “They’re real,” she said, with wonder in her voice as she looked up at him.

He nodded. “I would never give you something fake.”

“I’ve never had pearls before. I’ve never thought of myself as a pearl person.”

“Then let me show you how I want you to wear them, so you can see how absolutely fucking sexy a pearl person can be,” he said, standing up and making his way to his suitcase. He opened one of the zipper compartments where he’d tucked a dress for her, and brought it over. “Another gift. Put this on.”

“Now?”

He nodded. “Yes. Model it for me.”

“As you wish,” she said, standing up and glancing once at the cockpit. “What about the pilot?”

“I told him we’d be making full use of the plane and he said he’d have his eyes on the sky the whole time.”

“Then keep your eyes on me,” she said, looping the strand around her neck, then stripping off her skirt, letting it pool at her feet, her gaze locked on him the whole time. He watched her, growing harder with each layer she removed—now her shirt, then her lacy bra. He reclined the spacious leather seat, taking in the show, savoring every second of her undressing.

Gândurile mele (Simona):   Zi de zi, încercăm să ne ridicăm din gropile pe care alţii ni-le sapă ca să cădem în ele, zi de zi, luptăm pentru un trai mai bun atât pentru noi cât şi pentru cei din jurul nostru, fie că sunt proprii noştri copii sau părinţii care ne-au crescut şi ne-au dat o educaţie. Cum ar fi dacă într-o zi totul s-ar opri brusc, iar noi nu am mai putea să ne ajutăm nici pe noi darăminte pe cei care au nevoie? Cum ar fi dacă destinul nostru s-ar frânge brusc în urma unui accident, dacă ar trebui să învăţăm din nou cum să vorbim, cum să gândim, cum să mergem, cum să trăim. Oare cine poate răspunde la o întrebare aparent banală „cum ar fi?”. Eu cred că nu putem şti până când nu am fi puşi în situaţia respectivă, nu cred că ne putem pune în pielea oamenilor aceştia oricât de mult am empatiza cu ei.

    Într-o zi ca oricare alta Helene, se trezeşte la spital, înconjurată de doctori, familie şi prieteni, dar realitatea o izbeşte brusc şi îşi dă seama că toate persoanele pe care ea le are alături sunt acolo dintr-un motiv. Motivul era EA!

    În urma unui accident aceasta a ajuns de urgenţă la spital. Doctorii reuşesc să o stabilizeze şi aşteaptă ca Helene să deschidă ochii. Când acest lucru se întâmplă femeia este complet dezorientată, ea neştiind de ce se află acolo. Incapabilă să vorbească la început, aceasta nu ştie cum să se facă înţeleasă de cei din jurul ei. Nu se putea mişca, iar mâna dreaptă nu o asculta. Lumea femeii se frânsese în acea zi. Un lucru o frământa constant pe Helene şi anume cum a ajuns aici? Ştia că a fost implicată într-un accident, dar nu-şi putea aminti cum a ajuns să plece de acasă, care era motivul pentru care a decis să se urce în maşină în acea zi şi să nu privească înapoi? Totul este în ceaţă pentru ea, iar mintea sa începe să creeze pânze subţiri de amintiri, care ţesute cu grijă o propulsează pe femeie înapoi în trecut.

    Aceasta ne prezintă întâlnirea cu soţul ei, obstacolele prin care a trecut relaţia lor şi credeţi-mă că nu au fost puţine, plus o multitudine de întâmplări din care ajungeţi să trageţi multe învăţăminte alături de personajul principal.

    Dacă vorbim despre prezent şi lăsăm trecutul în urmă, ne dăm seama că recuperarea nu este uşoară, că a fi din nou cum ai fost înainte este un proces anevoios, pe alocuri imposibil chiar. Mintea ei este prinsă între viitor şi prezent într-o continuă buclă care gravitează între aceste două universuri, unul în care Helene este sănătoasă şi plină de viaţă, iar celălalt în care aceasta învaţă să vorbească, să meargă şi să nu mai depindă de ajutorul celor din jurul ei.

    Odată cu trecerea timpului, progresul ei este remarcabil, dar oare va reuşi Helene să se recupereze complet? Va reuşi să-şi amintească ce s-a întâmplat înainte de accident? Credeţi că soţul ei este singura persoană de care Helene s-a îndrăgostit? Toate acestea le puteţi afla dacă citiţi această carte!

    Recomand cu drag “N-ai să mori” celor care vor o lectură complex despre redescoperire şi greutăţile pe care le întâmpină oamenii atunci când le este lumea mai dragă.

Renee' Novelle is preceded by a long line of published family members, including Pulitzer Prize nominated author and Poet Laureate of Kentucky Jesse Stuart.

As a child, Novelle was already gaining recognition for several of her works, and in her formative years, she continued this trend by earning local awards for her short stories and poems.

As soon as I walked through the perfectly polished glass doors, I was assaulted by a rush of bright colors, vibrant music and overly friendly people just dying to put their bodies through the most grueling workout they could endure. And I had to admit to myself, their enthusiasm was a little contagious. People of all shapes, sizes and ages surrounded me, and I began to feel those nerves dissolve – just a little bit.

Maybe, just maybe, this wouldn’t be so bad after all.

And that’s when I saw him. He was leaning casually against the check-in desk, the absurdly chiseled muscles of his arm flexing under the weight of his perfect body. They were easy to see, thanks to the black top he’d cut the sides out of. His dark brown eyes glistened with boyish mischief while his lips curled into an appealingly delicious smile. The low rumble of laughter that flowed from his chest moved through me, over me, and almost immediately – I’m ashamed to say – I could picture myself in those sexy arms with his hands moving in all sorts of ways. It was one of those knock-down-drag-out images that stilled me in my tracks. And I’m pretty certain my face turned a million shades of red.

All at once, I felt those nerves flooding back. Only they were a thousand times stronger than they’d been in the parking lot, and for a fairly long second I thought I might hurl right then and there. But I swallowed down the sensation, clenched my jittery hands and tried my best to manage a natural smile as Savannah walked confidently up to scan her little card. As we approached the desk, getting closer and closer to the hottie at the side, I secretly wished I’d worn a cute little outfit like Savannah’s...

Everyone behind the desk greeted her by name – she was daily regular, and she had the body to account for it. I crept up timidly behind her, hoping that no one noticed me. But I didn’t stand a chance at that for too long. Before I realized what had happened, Savannah had turned around and gestured in my direction. “This is my friend Brooklyn, she’s signing up today.”

Suddenly, all eyes were on me. Including the hot stranger’s. And I felt my face blush against my will again. “Hi.” I waved timidly, and I could feel him smiling beside me.

“Cute name.” He said, but I’m pretty sure I was the only one who heard him. And I was also pretty sure I was crushing on him pretty hard.

After getting the necessary pre-requisites out of the way about how trials and memberships work, and after they gave me their boring sales run-down with the hopes of converting me right then and there, I was given a little card like Savannah’s that would only be active for a week. Then the main girl behind the counter with the too-chipper voice said, “You also get one free session with a personal trainer with your trial. Did you want to use that today? Most people say it helps them to get familiar with the equipment.” She shrugged.

I opened my mouth to object, but before I could push the words out, Savannah had gestured toward the hot guy who was still leaning against the counter. “Collin, you’re a personal trainer, right?”

My head jerked in his direction, and I wondered if my expression looked as panicked as I felt. Knowing Savannah like I did, I knew exactly where this was going.

“Yeah, sure am.” He smiled as he straightened.

“Great!” She was overly enthusiastic, and I felt my morbid embarrassment heighten. “Do you have time to show her around?”

“I’m on in ten.” After glancing at a clock on the wall, he turned his full attention directly to me. “Want to meet me over by the lockers?”

Everything in me wanted to scream yes! with the same force that it wanted to bolt right back out the door, get in my car, and never return. I was torn, undecided on which would be the least embarrassing, and the internal controversy had paralyzed my ability to respond with any ounce of smoothness. Finally, I felt myself nodding my head, and he seemed to accept this as a positive confirmation.

“Great. See you in a few minutes.” There was a slight chance he might have winked at the end. But it also could’ve been the sun streaming in through the all the windows at the front of the building, so I tried my best not to get my hopes up. As he walked away, assumedly to change into a less distracting ensemble, I wondered if anyone else noticed my gaping mouth as I stared at his impossibly tight ass and broad, well-defined shoulders. When Savannah nudged me, I decided that was confirmation enough.

Though I would never admit this to her in a hundred years, it was occurring to me that maybe my friend had been right – maybe this was exactly what I needed. Hell, I was beginning to feel better already.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Oh geez, where do I start? I love writing in all its gazillion varieties. I’m a huge supporter of anything arts related – theater, dance, music, art, fashion, you name it! I’m as addicted to lipgloss as I am to coffee. I’m a huge foodie and love trying new, fun recipes at home. I believe in romance and the perfect love and all that wonderful, sappy stuff. And I have two adorable cats that I consider to be my furry babies.

2. Tell us about your book. What inspired this story?
CRUSHED was my experiment with a different type of story and different type of characters than I normally write. I wanted to write something that was fun, sexy, slightly realistic and with a twist at the end. It’s one of three New Adult romance stories that I wrote to try something new, and I really liked the end result. So there may be more like this in the future. The other two, for those who are interested, are LATITUDES and DANCE WITH ME.

3. Is there a message you’re trying to get across the readers? What’s the one thing you want readers to think when they’ve finished your book?
There isn’t really a deep, underlying meaning with this book. Except to keep in mind that you can bump into the love of your life anywhere at any time, so keep your mind open to possibilities. Brooklyn certainly never expected to meet anyone at the gym. I really want readers to feel like they can connect in some way with the characters, and to just have fun with the story. It isn’t mean to be serious in any way.

That was how I was feeling before opening my kindle, that experience of a rush like no other, and I kept getting more with every page that I've read until... it was over, but let's talk about what you really want to hear, shall we?



But before that, be carerful because there are some spoilers ahead- in the last book we learned that Ema really was THE human that Jesu had the premonition about. She was the one that could defeat Apollyon, the self-appointed King. But Ema has no fighting experience so how is she supposed to kill Apollyon? That's Jesu's job: to train her so she would become the warrior they want, but who really wants for Ema to fulfill her destiny and who are her enemies?

So se is flying to Germany with Jesu so Ema can begin her training sessions and even though Ema has growing feelings for Jesu, she holds back. After all their history and all the danger they are facing, would it be wise to start something that could end badly, or even worse destroy their kind?

But Bridget offers to train Ema and to teach her their history of her kind. That's a really good thing because she can find out more and in the same time she has a pretext to keep her distance from the object of her lust...



But what you don't know is the little fact that Bridget is a old flame of Jesu. Don't worry he doesn't love her know, but she wants him back and like that old saying keep ypur friends close and your enemies...Well, Ema would learn that on the hard way when she flat out rejects him and he turns to Bridget, she accepts him. And then Ema sees them kissing so it's safe to say that she isn't too happy about it.

With all this drama, we see some action when Apollyon comes after Ema with the help of some Zombies and Ema is seen using her powers in public. As her punishement, she must face the German vampyre King for sentencing. Now, Ema is alone, without the man she loves, because know is sure about her feelings and in so much troube that she can't find her way out. What would she do?

While I loved Ema for her courage and fiery nature, I was upset that she couldn't take a chance and give in to her attraction, more thatn that she keept rejecting Jesu, when he obviously, wanted a relationship with her...



Final Decision- do you want a book packed with romance AND action, than this one is for you. It's a book that offers a new version about the origin of the vampires- making them successors of the nephilims kind.

“You’re a vampire” is so not what Ema Marx wants to hear when she wakes from a two-day coma in a cryptic yet exquisite castle in northern Finland. Unfortunately, it explains a lot. Like why she’s able to see in the dark and walk through solid objects. What she doesn’t understand is why the other vampires expect her to have all the answers. It’s their fault she turned into one of them…right?

Jalmari’s hatred for his old-man intensifies when he’s ordered to bring that troublesome girl to their castle. He has a clan to run, there’s no time for babysitting newborn vampires no matter how they were converted to their culture. But when a two-thousand-year-old premonition threatens to take the crown and his life, Jalmari sees no other choice than to take out the catalyst. Ema Marx. Fortunately for Ema, she could also be the clan’s only savior.

The race to figure out her vampiric origins is on. And maybe she’ll get the hang of the blood-drinking gig along the way...

My thoughts (Roxana):



We have Ema Marx, a young woman who is chased on the streets by a dangerous and mortal I might add... thief, who doesn't want her money, but she's saved in the last moments by an elderly woman....


And that's how a great journey begins... because we find out that Ema is a vampire, who has never been bitten! Interested?  This is the mystery that drives much of the novel. How did she turn? Was she bitten without her knowledge, or is some other force at work? What is her background, and how might her heritage be responsible for her present predicament?

Later, we find out more about her who attacked her and that's how we meet Jalmari and his brother, Jesu, after Ema is taken to a castle on an island near Helsinki. Now Ema finds herself in a very strange situation, with Jesu, a very hot guy who attracts her like the moth to a flame, but who's also her teacher. Jesu has to initiate Ema in this dark and strange world, where she has new and deadly powers, so it's necessary that she must find a way to control them, just like she has to with her bloodlust.

I must admit that I was captured in Jesu's spell, almost as much as Ema and I understood her attraction but also way that was a bad idea all around.

Even more so, Jesu  has a premonition that involves Ema, and should his prediction come true, it would have grave repercussions on the vampire world. So she's pressured by time to find her way and more than that, find herself and the control on his powers, before it's too late...


Most of the narrative takes place in Finland, an original setting for a vampire story, and delves into the origins of the vampire race, as well as the different clans they are divided into. Each clan has its own history and powers. I really loved this part of the story, because it's very rare to find a story that takes place in Europe, more o in Finland, where some time long ago the vikings Gods ruled the world, or at least the myths of the people...


I loved Ema and her feisty nature, she didn't back down in front of  Jalmari or anyone else for that matter, but she was also scared and confused, like every other human being would be about her nature, powers and Jesu... oh, Jesu... I should say more about him, but I won't do it because I'm evil like that and I'll simply say: Go and read the book!

Final Decision. If you love an original story about vampires, with a plot completely different than what you have read until know in your life, then give it a try. If you would to read a good story, then you HAVE to read it.

Oh... and for finding out that this is just the first book...

We all know that the Maddox brothers are trouble with a big T and Cami is no stranger to their situation, and even though she feels the attraaction to this bad boy, she keeps her distance, even more so because she has a boyfriend, T.J, who she is deeply in love to, but that's the big problem, because where she wants to be with him always, he.... isn't there for her. I so want to tell you more about their relationship, but I can't without telling you the secret, so I'm just going to be cryptic and tell you that he has a 'job' that keeps him away from her. But it's a good thing that Trenton is here...

“I was just thinking now was as good a time as any to acknowledge that you’re perfect and it wouldn’t suck if you feel madly in love with me anytime soon.”
I have a boyfriend,” I reminded him.
… “Speed bump.”

He's a funny, endearing, damaged boy who is more open to people than Travis was, and he's not afraid about showing his 'soft' side to the world, even though he has his womanizing ways, his big heart is there in plain sight...More so, Trenton is there for her, giving her love and attention amidst laughs that begin to infuse life and color into her day-to-day, give her everything a  girl would want- attention, loyalty, laugh and love.

No, in this novel, Cami is the one who resists his charms and their attraction, because she's afraid. Damaged by her parents relationship, she grow up scarred, but more than anything she didn't want to start something with Travis, not as long as she has her own problems, job, school and a boyfriend. But, he doesn't want to keep his distance, and with the Maddox's charm, he infiltrates so deep under her skin, that she can't escape him, and like always, when it comes to those brothers, they hall hard and fast, and it's true love...

“I was pretty damn smart. Smart enough to have kept my distance from Trenton all these years. I’d seen him flirt, seduce, and evade since we were kids. There was absolutely no trick Trenton Maddox could play that I wouldn’t be ready for.”



“Her long platinum blond hair fell in loose waves past her shoulders, with a few black peekaboo strands. She wore a black minidress and combat boots.”

This story starts with Cami and Raegan going to have a girl night out, but somehow she has an encounter with Trenton and his brother, Travis  (yes ladies, we see our favorite tortured bad boy again), where he tries to deliver a sexy line with his Cassanova's attitude, but Cami, after growing up with three brothers and a cousin, she isn't afraid to speak her mind, and both having a passionate and stubborn  nature, sparks are flying from the first moment.

“Raegan and I were on the opposite side of town, strutting across the gravel lot of the Red Door, slowly and in unison, as if we were being filmed while walking to a badass soundtrack.” 

Remember how I mentioned Cami's long distance relationship? Well, she doesn't want to cheat, but Trenton being Trenton he wants to be with her in any form that she'll allow him... so that's how a beautiful friendship blooms between this two souls. And I loved every freaking moment between them...

“I’ll help you get lost any time, Sunshine. The only deal is you have to promise to come back. I never want to lose you again.”

Final Decision- I don't know way it's so rare for me to find a friends turning lovers kind of story, but definitely, I'll have to check more this stories type in my future, because it was a brilliant story that wakes a myriapods of emotions in the reader's life, giving the ups and downs required to my reading addiction. So... I recommend this book to every Maddox fans out there, but also to any reader who loves to read a masterpiece book.
