Stripped by Brooklyn Skye + Giveaway!

“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot.
“Don’t... waste those words on me.”
He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.”
“No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

BIO: Brooklyn Skye grew up in a small town where she quickly realized writing was an escape from small town life. Really, she’s just your average awkward girl who’s obsessed with words. Her Best Selling New Adult debut, STRIPPED, is out NOW! Represented by Bree Ogden of D4EO Literary Agency. You can follow her on Twitter (https://twitter.com/brooklyn__skye) or visit her web site for updates, teasers, and more. (http://brooklynskye.wordpress.com/)

1) How and why have you started to write? Was there something or someone that gave you an impulse?

I started writing a few years ago when my husband began working nights and I was bored out of my mind. I’d loved reading before that and once I had an idea for a story (it was a ghost story that ended up a complete flop), I decided to try writing. Turns out, what started out as writing to pass the time is now an absolute obsession.

2) Tell me something about you and your book Stripped.

I wrote the first draft of STRIPPED in five weeks. At the time (three years ago), New Adult wasn’t an accepted category so even though most of the story took place in a college setting, Quinn was in high school. Once it was finished, I set it aside for a long while, frustrated because Quinn as a high school senior did not work for me, but I didn’t want to rewrite it as Adult either. Once books like Losing It and Easy started emerging as New Adult, I decided to rewrite it with Quinn in college.

3) While you’re writing, have you discovered a character that you were developing feelings of love for? And was there a character that gave you headaches?

I think anyone who has read STRIPPED might agree that Torrin is pretty swoon-worthy ;) As for a character giving me headaches? I would have to say it was Derek. Mainly because making him a jerk and giving him redeeming qualities was really hard!

4) How have you done your research for this novel?

Most of the research for this novel was about nude modeling. My dad is an artist so I talked a lot with him about the sights and smells of an art room.

5) Is there a book that inspired your writings?

I was inspired to write an unlikeable character by author Courtney Summers. Before that, I’d had the idea for STRIPPED in my head for quite a while, but couldn’t figure out how to tell the story from a character who wasn’t as jaded as Quinn. After reading Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers, I knew I’d be able to give Quinn her story.

6) In the end, would you like say some words to your fans from Romania?

Thank you, thank you, thank you and I hope you fall in love with Quinn and Torrin like I have!

Thank you Ms. Brooklyn for your generous donation!
